The team at Focus Communications has been consulting on integrated marketing communication campaigns since 2016. In 2019, we launched the company full-time and added qualitative research services to our suite of offerings. Our firm is a certified Tier 1 Local Emerging Small Business (ESB) in the area of marketing consulting services by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Amy Bouchard, APR

Amy Bouchard, APR


Amy grew up on a farm in Eastern Montana. She left her hometown to attend college in Washington state. She moved to Las Vegas in 2004 for a marketing position at Bank of America. She currently lives in Henderson.

Her expertise includes strategic planning, e-commerce, website planning and creation, technology development and implementation, branding new programs and firms, employee and audience surveys, data analysis, and comprehensive marketing campaigns.

Before launching Focus Communications, Amy worked in marketing and public relations for Frontier Behavioral HealthBank of AmericaPublic Relations Society of AmericaUNLV, the UNLV Alumni Association, and Sarah Thornton Public Relations.

Amy has served as a board member of the Public Relations Society of America for more than 13 years including a year as president of the Las Vegas Valley Chapter and a year as chair of its Western District. Currently, she’s the president-elect for the Las Vegas Valley Chapter. From 2005-2012, she led the United Way Campaigns at Bank of America and UNLV. She served as a volunteer for the National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada. She taught the capstone class in strategic planning for the integrated marketing communications track at UNLV and a variety of technology courses for the Spokane Community College.

From 1995-97, Amy served in the Montana Army National Guard. She was assigned to the U.S. Army Inactive Reserves until 2003. She was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for her service in Montana during the Gulf War.

Amy received her bachelor’s in business administration from Eastern Washington University. She earned Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America, a distinction held by only 15 percent of public relations professionals within the society’s global membership.

Vice President of Research

Michael came to Las Vegas from Cape Town, South Africa in September 2006 on a Rotary International Ambassadorial scholarship. He received both his LL.B. (Bachelor’s degree) and LL.M. (Master’s degree) in Private Law from the University of South Africa.

A double alumnus from the UNLV, Michael graduated in 2008 with a Master’s in Public Administration and 2013 with a Ph.D. in Public Affairs. During his time as a student, he served three terms as president of the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) as well as one term as chair of the Nevada Student Alliance, the overarching student government association for all NSHE student government organizations representing the more than 105,000+ higher education students in Nevada.

As a policy analyst at UNLV, he researched and analyzed the academic infrastructure needs of the university while serving on the Faculty Senate, University Policy Committee and the Top Tier Community Engagement subcommittee. While serving as the director of strategic initiatives and research at the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (the regional development authority for Southern Nevada), he worked on the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Clark County as well as the Data Portal which provides out-of-state and international visitors with data-driven information regarding our region’s economic landscape.

For the last few years, Michael served as the senior vice president of development, government, and community relations at The Public Education Foundation. He was responsible for fundraising initiatives, legislative matters, and engaging the community on behalf of the foundation.

A graduate of the Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2012, Michael serves on the boards of The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada, the Boy Scouts Las Vegas Area Council, Beacon Academy of Nevada, Rotary Club of Las Vegas, and previously served on the UNLV Alumni Association board of directors.

Michael teaches master’s and docatoral classes at UNLV in the area of policy analysis.
